My 2020 Vision
Unapologetic.
That is the one word I’m living by in 2020.
When I think about strong female leads and their accomplishments, I noticed that the one trait that consistently leads to their success is being unapologetic.
Unapologetic about:
- Confrontation / challenging social norms
- Showing their true selves
- Hurting a challenger’s feelings
- Their worth, and ensuring they are paid fairly
I spent over 30 years saying “Sorry” when I shouldn’t have. I wasted time feeling sorry for myself when I should’ve forgotten about things quickly and move on.
With this one word to live by, I want to:
- Stop saying “Sorry” unnecessarily
- Believe in my worth and stand by it
- Learn from setbacks and move on
