Covid Quarantine, Day 8: How Am I Doing?

Covid Quarantine, Day 8: How Am I Doing?
^ That’s my anxiety speaking

My family and I are on week 2 of quarantine. It’s crazy to think that there are many around the country who have yet to shelter in place.

Over the weekend, the news showed people doing social distancing all wrong on beaches (*ahem California and Florida*) and crowds at parks (*ahem Washington DC*).

Despite health professionals worldwide ringing the alarm bells, the UK still held a half marathon in Bath with 6,200 runners. (*whispers* We’re all going to dieeeeee…)

In theory, I shouldn’t worry about what I can’t control. I am thankful that my city is taking this outbreak seriously. While we are not officially on a lockdown, enough public places have been closed. We’re talkin’:

  • libraries
  • churches
  • schools
  • shopping malls
  • dine-in restaurants
  • bars

…leading me to believe many are forced to stay home.

Today, the state extended school closures to May 15. Initially, it was April 6. Additionally, public playgrounds are now closed. Parks and trails are still open, but social distancing is a must.

Furthermore, hospitals are starting to limit visitors, and clinics are moving the majority of appointments online.

With a lockdown looking likely, my basic goal is to update this blog twice a week – around Monday/Tuesday and Friday/Saturday. These posts are going to be extremely informal, with the hopes that I can remind myself how I got through this major event (with a toddler, nonetheless).

Allow me to lighten the mood with…

I mean… look at these results!!! Such a good productivity hack. Why waste your time in a meeting that should’ve been an email?

I mean… these take the cake:
